Why should we believe Kubiak now?

Texans coach and fantasy pooh-bah Gary Kubiak is going to tweak his running back rotation. Well, of course he is. The guy buried Steve Slaton after a promising rookie season (and some fumbles), so what could he possibly do for an encore? Bring back Earl Campbell for a game?
Kubiak told the Texans’ official site that he is going to give more reps to Arian Foster and Ryan Moats. Which means that it is time to start Chris Brown this week.
Just kidding.
But just barely.
Kubiak said that he was pleased with Foster, who rushed for nearly 100 yards in Week 16, but we have heard this song and dance before. When Kubiak starts talking up a running back, that is the horror-movie equivalent of telling somebody that you are going to “be right back.” You just want to go check out that noise in the barn where you store all of the chain saws and swords.
Kubiak raved about Foster prior to Week 15 (like he was Jon Gruden talking about Brett Favre), and we all remember what happened — Foster was pulled after scoring a negative fantasy point in the first quarter.
Fantasy players are encouraged to handle the Texans running backs like Colts coach Jim Caldwell treats a perfect season — pull back. If you have other options, certainly use them.
