Tests confirm bruised ribs for Saints’ Thomas

Saints RB Pierre Thomas sustained bruised ribs in Sunday’s 20-17 loss to the Bucs, but appears to have avoided a more serious situation. Saints coach Sean Payton said on Monday that Thomas underwent tests following the game, but the results came back negative.

Thomas was injured during the second quarter at the end of a 26-yard run. He was looked at by trainers on the sideline and was able to re-enter the game on the same drive, but it was annouced by the team during the second half that Thomas was done for the day.

The New Orleans Times-Picayne suggests it’s likely Thomas will be limited in practice this week and will likely be questionable for Sunday’s season finale against the Panthers.
