Saints RB Pierre Thomas has left Sunday’s game against the Bucs with bruised ribs and won’t return.
Thomas was injured during the second quarter at the end of a 26-yard run. He was looked at by trainers on the sideline and was able to re-enter the game on the same drive, but it was annouced by the team during the second half that Thomas was done for the day.
Thomas, the Saints’ leading rusher, had six rushes for 60 yards and a touchdown before leaving the game. Mike Bell and Reggie Bush are both active and playing for the Saints today, and second-year back Lynell Hamilton is also getting some work.
