The Saints and Buccaneers should have some starters back for their NFC South showdown on Sunday.
The Saints expect DT Sedrick Ellis to return from a knee injury and also are confident that star safety Darren Sharper will start, according to a source with knowledge of the situation.
The status of CBs Jabari Greer (groin) and Randall Gay (concussion) is more in doubt, however. The team isn’t as hopeful for them but will make a final determination following warmups Sunday morning.
The Bucs listed four key players as questionable, but the team has all of them slated to play, according to a source with knowledge of the situation. WR Antonio Bryant (groin), WR Michael Clayton (knee), C Jeff Faine (elbow) and RB Derrick Ward (knee) are all expected in the starting lineup, according to the source.
Update: Ellis and Sharper are active. Saints TE Jeremy Shockey (toe) is inactive as expected.
