Steelers’ Polamalu still can’t practice on injured knee

Steelers safety Troy Polamalu told reporters in Pittsburgh that he will not try to practice Wednesday and isn’t sure if he can play this weekend against the Ravens.
“We’ll see what Coach (Mike Tomlin) has to say about that,” Polamalu said when repeatedly pressed about his status for Sunday’s game.
Polamalu has missed the last five games — and nine total this season — because of a troublesome left knee. He sprained his posterior cruciate ligament in his left knee on Nov. 15, after missing four games earlier this season with a torn medial collateral ligament in the same knee.
NFL Network’s Jason La Canfora reported Tuesday that Polamalu would have his knee re-examined before Wednesday’s practice to see if he could practice and ultimately play.
