Steelers’ Polamalu will have ailing knee re-examined

Steelers star safety Troy Polamalu will have his injured left knee re-examined Wednesday before practice, according to a source with knowledge of the situation, to determine if he can return for this weekend’s crucial game against the Ravens.

Polamalu has twice injured the knee and missed much of the season.

The Steelers anticipated having Polamalu back for last Sunday’s game against the Packers, and as of last Wednesday, that remained the target. But Polamalu felt discomfort in the knee and was ruled out of that game.
