Jaguars place FB Jones on injured reserve

The Jaguars officially ended FB Greg Jones’ season Thursday by placing him on the season-ending injured reserve.

Jones, the lead blocker for RB Maurice Jones-Drew, injured his right ankle during last Sunday’s 14-10 loss to the Dolphins. The Jaguars had been quiet about Jones’ injury, other than activating FB Brock Bolen from the practice squad Wednesday, a sign that the six-year veteran wouldn’t play in Thursday night’s game against the Colts (NFL Network, 8 p.m. ET).

The Jaguars filled Jones’ spot by signing first-year DB Kennard Cox to the 53-man active roster.
