Panthers’ Delhomme expected to sit Sunday

Panthers QB Jake Delhomme looks doubtful to return this week, according to a league source.

Delhomme, who has missed the past two games with a finger injury, is not expected back for practice Wednesday and is still experiencing swelling and discomfort, according to the source. He will be re-evaluated at the end of the week, but a return for Sunday’s game against the Minnesota Vikings is not expected at this point.

That would leave youngster Matt Moore in line for another start. In a tough loss against New England last week, Moore completed half of his 30 passes for 197 yards and a touchdown.
