NFL’s PSA about concussions debuts Thursday night
Published: December 10th, 2009 | Tags: concussions
The NFL’s public-service announcement about concussions in sports will debut Thursday night during NFL Network’s broadcast of the Steelers-Browns game and will continue to run throughout the season. The PSA talks directly to coaches, parents, athletes and others and describes the importance of recognizing a concussion, taking time to recover and not returning to play too soon.
The spot was approved by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC). The PSA directs viewers to the CDC’s “Heads Up” Web site, www.cdc.gov/concussion, for more information.
