The Texans will place second-year RB Steve Slaton on injured reserve Wednesday with a shoulder injury, NFL.com’s Steve Wyche reports.
Slaton, the team’s leading rusher and second-leading receiver, missed the Texans’ Week 13 loss at Jacksonville after experiencing numbness in the tip of his right thumb. According to the team’s Web site, Slaton said last Friday that he didn’t think his injury was too serious. He visited a Dallas-area specialist on Tuesday to be evaluated.
Chris Brown and Ryan Moats have seen the bulk of the action at running back when Slaton isn’t in the lineup.
