NFL awarding $1.5 million in medical research grants

NFL Charities is awarding $1.5 million in grants to support medical research on subjects such as artery blockage in retired players, stem cell usage for tendon repair and heat stress risks.

It was announced Tuesday that 11 organizations will receive grants. Since 2000, NFL Charities has committed more than $20 million in grants to medical facilities nationwide. More …
