Despite the fact that RB Justin Forsett proved to be more explosive during his time as the starter, Seahawks coach Jim Mora has still gone back to RB Julius Jones as the top rushing option in the backfield.
The Notre Dame product returned from injury this week and leads the team in carries (18) and yards (53) so far, getting far more attempts than Forsett (five rushes, 9 yards) against the 49ers.
I wouldn’t trust either back down the stretch and into the fantasy postseason. Someone I would trust, however, is Cowboys TE Jason Witten.
After posting mediocre numbers for much of the season, Witten has been targeted more often by QB Tony Romo. In fact, he’s had 100-yard performances in his last two games.
Speaking of Romo, can fantasy owners start to trust him in December?
Well, he’s looked pretty good against the Giants in a huge NF C East contest. I still see him as a risk in upcoming games against the Chargers and Redskins, though.
