A league source has confirmed two fines involving flagrant infractions.
Broncos DL Darrell Reid was fined $10,000 for unnecessary roughness. He struck his opponent in the head area with his elbow and received a warning that flagrant violations will not be tolerated and future infractions could result in steeper fines and even suspensions, according to a source with knowledge of the situation.
Eagles RB Eldra Buckley was given similar discipline, according to a source. He, too, was fined $10,000 for unnecessary roughness, for kicking his opponent in the head. He received a warning similar to Reid’s.
The league is being vigilant in its effort to protect players and taking a stern stance on actions that could seriously injure an opponent, in line with efforts to curb head injuries and concussions.
