Browns RB Jamal Lewis will miss this week’s game against the Chargers, and NFL Network’s Jason La Canfora reports he is expected to be placed on injured reserve.
The veteran has already announced that he will retire at season’s end.
If this comes to fruition, it would mean a huge increase in the value of RB Chris Jennings.
An undrafted rookie out of Arizona, Jennings would be the favorite to take over the top spot on the team’s depth chart. RB Jerome Harrison will also be in the mix, however, so Jennings won’t be a featured back.
If you need a running back or have an open spot on your roster, I’d still look to add him now.
Jennings is a free agent in 97 percent of NFL.com leagues.
While playing for the Browns makes him a risk, Jennings does have some great matchups against the Chiefs and Raiders in the final two weeks of the fantasy postseason.
