The Saints’ high-powered offense will be without one of its key playmakers in Monday night’s game against the Patriots, as RB Reggie Bush was listed as inactive for the game. Bush has been battling a knee injury that limited his practice time during the week.
The Saints will also be without both starting cornerbacks against the Patriots. Jabari Greer, who was listed as questionable, will miss his third consecutive game due to a groin injury. Tracy Porter will miss his second straight game due to a knee injury after being held out of practice most of the week. He was officially doubtful.
The absence of Greer and Porter likely means Randall Gay, a former Patriot, will likely start against his former team. The Saints also brought back DB Mike McKenzie last week after Leigh Torrence was lost for the season.
The other Saints inactives: Garrett Hartley, Lance Moore, Kyle Eckel, Jonathan Casillas and DeMario Pressley.
No major surprises among the inactives for the Patriots, who listed 17 players as questionable for the game. The Patriots will have starting offensive linemen Matt Light, Steve Neal, Nick Kaczur and Dan Koppen, who were all questionable. The game should also mark the return of RB Sammy Morris, who is active after missing the last four games with a knee injury.
Veteran CB Shawn Springs, who was probable with a knee injury, will also not play.
The Patriots inactives: Fred Taylor, Kyle Arrington, Junior Seau, Rich Ohrnberger, Sebastian Vollmer and Ron Brace. The No. 3 QB is Julian Edelman.’
