Panthers QB Delhomme has broken finger

Panthers QB Jake Delhomme has a broken finger on his right hand, coach John Fox announced during the team’s Monday morning press conference.

Fox said the injury happened late in the fourth quarter of Sunday’s 17-6 loss to the Jets. Delhomme is considered day-to-day this week, although Fox said backup Matt Moore will take the majority of the snaps at Wednesday’s practice. Moore would be the likely starter if Delhomme can’t play.

Delhomme threw four interceptions in the Panthers’ loss on Sunday and now has 18 on the season, two fewer than league-leader Jay Cutler.
