Chargers’ Merriman, Weddle out with injuries

Chargers OLB Shawne Merriman has left Sunday’s game against the Chiefs with a foot injury, and was announced as questionable to return.

Merriman, who was questionable for the game after missing practice time all week due to an injured foot, didn’ t appear to be injured on a specific play. There’s no word yet on whether Merriman aggravated his existing injury or suffered a separate injury, but midway through the second quarter he’s currently out.

Chargers FS Eric Weddle also sustained a knee injury during the first half and was announced as questionable to return.
