Turnover leads to Broncos finally punching one in

DENVER — I liked the Giants to win this one and continue the Broncos’ slump, but it’s not looking that way.
Denver had failed to produce a takeaway in the past three games, but the forced fumble here was huge. The Broncos got a short field to operate with and convert on third-and-goal from the 1. Essentially they punched that ball in, and I tend to think coach Josh McDaniels would have gone for it on fourth down had Knowshon Moreno not plunged in for the score.
It seemed pretty clear the Giants wanted to come out and hammer the ball on the ground with Brandon Jacobs and Danny Ware, but with the way the first 20 minutes of this half have gone, they may have to change that up. This would be a perfect time for Elvis Dumervil and the Denver pass rush to get going.
