Chargers hold out several starters

The Chargers returned to practice Wednesday missing a number of veteran starters who were listed as sitting out the session – DE Luis Castillo (calf), WR Vincent Jackson (ribs), OLG Shawne Merriman (foot) and OLB Shaun Phillips (ankle).

Starting C Nick Hardwick, who has been working his way back from an ankle injury he suffered in Week 1, was listed as taking part in a limited portion of pratice.
