Falcons RB Michael Turner will not play Sunday against the Giants, NFL Network’s Jason La Canfora reports, citing a league source.
Turner didn’t practice all week after hurting an ankle and was listed as doubtful on the Falcons’ injury report. It’s a big blow for the Falcons because Turner, who made his first Pro Bowl last season, leads the team with 831 rushing yards and 10 touchdowns.
Making matters worse is that the Falcons also won’t have backup RB Jerious Norwood, who missed the previous four games because of a hip flexor injury. That means Jason Snelling most likely will make just the second start of his three-year NFL career.
The Falcons will have Pro Bowl WR Roddy White, who was limited in practice Thursday and Friday because of a knee injury.
