Don’t rush to add RB Johnson this week

According to NFL Network’s Michael Lombardi, the Cincinnati Bengals will sign former Chiefs RB Larry Johnson.
The move comes after RB Cedric Benson suffered a hip flexor in Sunday’s win over the Steelers. The ailment isn’t considered serious, but it looks like Benson could still be a game-time decision to face the Raiders.
That scenario means fantasy leaguers should look to insure Benson, but not with Johnson. Once the move is consummated, L.J. will be seen as no more than a “fourth running back” according to coach Marvin Lewis.
Instead, owners should look to add rookie RB Bernard Scott.
If Benson were unable to go, Scott would likely draw the start and becomes a viable flex starter against an Oakland defense that’s struggled to stop the run.
