Panthers lose Pro Bowl LT Gross to ankle injury

Panthers LT Jordan Gross was carted off the field with his right leg immobilized and will not return to Sunday’s game against the Falcons with what the team called an ankle injury.

Gross signed a six-year, $60 million contract with the Panthers during the offseason after reaching his first Pro Bowl. He has missed only one game in his seven-year NFL career.

Travelle Wharton replaced Gross at left tackle, and second-year pro Mackenzy Bernadeau came in the game to play left guard.
