Giants place Wilkinson on IR, sign CB

The New York Giants placed linebacker Gerris Wilkinson (dislocated wrist) on Injured Reserve Wednesday, according to the team. Cornerback D.J. Johnson was signed off Denver’s practice squad.
Wilkinson, in his fourth season, played in all nine games for the Giants this season, both on defense and special teams. He recorded nine total tackles.
Johnson is a 6-foot-2, 200-pound rookie from Jackson State.
