Browns place LB Barton on injured reserve

The Cleveland Browns officially ended Eric Barton’s season Tuesday, placing the veteran linebacker on injured reserve. Barton, who started all eight games this season, suffered a shoulder injury in the 30-6 loss to the Bears before the team’s bye last week.

Barton, who leads the team with 58 tackles this season, is the second starting linebacker to be lost for the season — the Browns placed D’Qwell Jackson on IR last month with a shoulder injury.

The Browns made two other roster moves Tuesday, signing RB Thomas Brown to the practice squad and releasing WR Darnell Jenkins from the practice squad.
