Reid will be cautious with Westbrook

Eagles RB Brian Westbrook missed his second straight game on Sunday night due to the concussion he suffered in Week 7.

Although coach Andy Reid indicated earlier in the week Westbrook was expected to play, as it turns out, Westbrook began experiencing symptoms of a mild headache on Friday. He underwent more testing, and although the tests were negative, he was deactivated prior to the 20-16 loss to the Cowboys.

Reid discussed the situation surrounding Westbrook during his postgame news conference, saying he will continue to use caution with the injury.

“But I know this: If he has [headaches], then I’m obviously going to go on the conservative side of that,” Reid said when asked if there is a timeline for Westbrook’s return. “He had tests done, and everything else. Try to take every precautionary measure possible. But I’m not going to stick him out there if he has the headaches, even if the tests were positive.”
