INDIANAPOLIS — Ryan Moats will start in place of Steve Slaton at running back Sunday, according to the Texans.
Slaton lost playing time and — and now his starting job — because of problems with ball control. Slaton has lost an NFL-high-tying five fumbles this season.
Moats ran for 126 yards and three touchdowns against the Bills last week after Slaton was benched during the first quarter. Moats, a fifth-year pro, will make just his second career start against the Colts.
