Eagles’ Peters, Demps out with injuries

Philadelphia Eagles starting LT Jason Peters left Sunday night’s game against the Dallas Cowboys during the first quarter with a left ankle injury, and his return is uncertain.

Peters was injured when Cowboys NT Jay Ratliff fell onto the back of his legs while Peters was pass blocking. Peters bent awkwardly backwards, and was in obvious pain on the field. He was able to walk gingerly off the field with the help of two team personnel and went immediately to the trainers’ table.

Team trainers were spotted taping Peters’ left ankle, and he was later brought to the locker room for X-rays.

The Eagles moved left guard Todd Herremans to left tackle, and inserted backup Nick Cole at left guard.

The Eagles also announced during the second quarter that S Quintin Demps was out with an ankle injury and would not return.

Cowboys Pro Bowl C Andre Gurode also left the game during the second quarter after he was rolled up on from behind, suffering an apparent lower right leg injury. He was replaced by Cory Procter.
