The Philadelphia Eagles confirmed an earlier report by NFL Network insider Jason La Canfora that RB Brian Westbrook will miss Sunday’s game by listing him as inactive against the Dallas Cowboys.
Westbrook, who was listed as questionable against the Cowboys, will miss his second consecutive game after suffering a concussion in Week 7. The Eagles released a statement on Westbrook’s condition shortly after announcing he was out.
“On Friday afternoon Brian began experiencing symptoms of a mild headache,” Eagles head athletic trainer Rick Burkholder said. “From that point forward, we had Brian reevaluated by (team internist) Dr. Gary Dorshimer and we put him through extensive testing. Even though those tests were determined to be negative, we all thought it would be in the best interests of Brian and the team that he should be deactivated for tonight’s game. We will continue to evaluate Brian this week.”
The Eagles also deactivated DB Dimitri Patterson, RB P.J. Hill, LB Chris Gocong, OL Max Jean-Gilles and Mike McGlynn, WR Kevin Curtis and DE Victor Abiamiri. All three quarterbacks were active.
No surprises among the Cowboys’ inactives: KR Allen Rossum, S Michael Hamlin, LBs Steve Octavien and Jason Williams, and OL Montrae Holland, Duke Preston and Pat McQuistan.
