Injured Texans TE Daniels a huge loss for owners

Texans TE Owen Daniels suffered a serious knee injury during Sunday’s victory over the Bills, and initial reports suggest that he’ll miss the rest of the season.
That is a huge blow for owners, as Daniels had emerged as the top tight end in fantasy football in 2009.
In Daniels’ absence, Joel Dreessen and rookie James Casey will pick up additional targets in Houston’s offense. However, neither is worthy of much fantasy attention.
The loss of Daniels is obviously bad news for Matt Schaub, but it shouldn’t cause the quarterback to tumble too far down ranking lists.
The member of the Texans’ offense who could benefit the most from this unfortunate situation is WR Kevin Walter, who should see a more prominent role in the pass attack.
If you need to replace Daniels and are desperate for a tight end down the stretch, target Baltimore’s Todd Heap, Oakland’s Zach Miller, New York’s Dustin Keller or Washington’s Fred Davis off the waiver wire next week.
