There is the chance that Bengals first-round draft pick OT Andre Smith could be game-ready by Cincinnati’s Oct. 23 game against Chicago. It appears to be more likely, though, that Smith won’t play until the Nov. 8 game against the Baltimore Ravens, following the Bengals’ bye week.

I was one of the loudest critics of Ted Thompson’s decision not to welcome Brett Favre back after the QB decided to unretire. Thompson is right in his assessment that Aaron Rodgers is a good quarterback. I just didn’t like the timing, considering they were a missed field goal away from the Super Bowl.
