GREEN BAY — Vikings DE Jared Allen feasted on Green Bay for 4.5 sacks earlier this month, having his way with converted guard Daryn Colledge, pummeling QB Aaron Rodgers. Allen likely won’t have Colledge to push around Sunday at Lambeau Field, but it appears as if he’ll be facing rookie T.J. Lang.
Veteran left tackle Chad Clifton (ankle) was limited in practice for the second time this week and could miss his second consecutive game. Lang, a fourth-round draft pick from Eastern Michigan, would be entrusted with stopping Allen (7.5 sacks in 2009) from getting to Rodgers, who has been sacked 25 times, second most in the NFL. Colledge is expected to play his natural position, left guard.
Lang, a converted guard, faced Allen in Minnesota’s 30-23 victory over Green Bay Oct. 5 in relief of Colledge. Lang made his first start last week in Green Bay’s victory over Cleveland. Coach Mike McCarthy said there are too many injury-related scenarios to determine who will start along the offensive line against the Vikings, but he did say he’s been impressed with the way Lang has played.
Recently re-signed veteran right tackle Mark Tauscher went through his first full practice since being signed just more than two weeks ago. Tauscher, who underwent reconstructive surgery on his left knee after last season, could start in place of right tackle Allen Barbre. But a more likely scenario is for Tauscher to be active and ready to play should Barbre not play well or get hurt.
