It’s time to cut Chiefs RB Johnson, add Charles

Now that Chiefs RB Larry Johnson has been barred from his team and there is no timetable for his return, it might be time for fantasy owners to dump the under-producing, overrated running back.
With no touchdowns and a 2.7-yards-per-carry average this season, Johnson was no longer worth starting in fantasy leagues before the Chiefs’ ban on Tuesday.
Now he’s not worth a roster spot at all.
If you own L.J. or need a running back, I’d go out and add Johnson’s backup, Jamaal Charles, off the waiver wire. He’s younger, fresher and more explosive than Johnson, and he’ll be put into a prominent role after the team’s Week 8 bye.
RB Kolby Smith could also wind up in the mix, but he’s been on the Physically Unable to Perform (PUP) list with an injured knee.
