The Patriots activated veteran OL Mark LeVoir from the physically unable to perform list and rookie WR Brandon Tate from the non-football injury list, providing depth at key positions entering the International Series game against the Buccaneers.
LeVoir, who played in every game for the Patriots last season and started twice, might be needed because starting OT Matt Light will miss his second consecutive game with a knee injury.
Tate, a third-round draft pick out of North Carolina, could play in place of fellow rookie Julian Edelman, who’s out because of a forearm injury. The Patriots released veteran Joey Galloway earlier in the week, leaving Randy Moss, Wes Welker, Sam Aiken and Matt Slater as the only active wide receivers.
