After going 6-for-11 passing for 45 yards and failing to lead the 49ers to a single point in the first half in Houston, QB Shaun Hill has been benched in favor of QB Alex Smith. However, the former No. 1 overall pick would have to put up some great numbers to warrant a look off the fantasy waiver wire next week.

49ers RB Frank Gore has been invisible in his return from an injured ankle, rushing for five yards on seven carries. Considering what was a very favorable matchup on paper, Gore could be one of the week’s bigger fantasy disappointments.
