Bills downgrade TE Nelson to out

The Buffalo Bills downgraded TE Shawn Nelson from doubtful to out  for Sunday’s game against the Carolina Panthers.

Nelson was held out of practice all week due to illness and wasn’t expected to play. The absence of Nelson, who has started all five games this season, leaves the Bills with two tight ends on the active roster — Derek Fine and Jonathan Stupar.
