Redskins sign free-agent LT Jones to fill void

With their offensive line in shambles and starting LT Chris Samuels possibly out for the season with a neck injury, the Redskins signed free agentĀ Levi Jones, a league source told NFL Network’s Jason La Canfora.

Terms of the deal weren’t known.

Jones, who hasn’t played yet this season, had worked out for several teams in the past few weeks.

Jones was the Bengals’ 10th overall pick in the 2002 draft and started 89 of 94 games with the team, which terminated his contract in May, making him a free agent. Various knee and leg injuries forced Jones to miss 17 games over the last three seasons.

The Redskins announced two additional roster moves Tuesday, re-signing DE Renaldo Wynn and adding RB Quinton Gaither to the roster. To make room on the active roster, RB Marcus Mason, RB Anthony Alridge and P Glenn Pakulak were released.
