Vikings coach Brad Childress updated CB Antoine Winfield‘s status during his weekly Monday news conference, saying he won’t rule out the Pro Bowler this week because of the sprained foot he sustained during Sunday’s victory over the Ravens.
Winfield was forced from the game during the first half and didn’t return. Childress said Winfield was receiving treatment Monday, but the coach wouldn’t speculate on a timetable for the cornerback’s return.
“People heal so differently, it’s hard to know,” Childress said. “I would’ve thought (Phil) Loadholt’s injury would’ve held him out longer than it held him out. Guys have different recuperative skills, and I’m not going to rule him in or rule him out at this point.”
Childress didn’t offer an update on rookie WR Percy Harvin, who aggravated his shoulder injury against the Ravens.
“He’s sore and going through the treatment process,” Childress said.
