Steelers S Troy Polamalu made his presence felt early in his first game back from a knee injury, intercepting Cleveland’s Josh Cribbs to end the Browns’ third drive of the game. But Polamalu, who missed the Steelers’ last four games with a sprained MCL in his left knee, landed hard on the same knee on the play, wincing in pain briefly before getting to his feet. He limped off the field under his own power, and remains on the Steelers’ bench.
Polamalu returned to the game on the next drive, but Steelers coach Mike Tomlin had prevoiusly said he would limit Polamalu’s snaps in the game, so it will remain to be seen how much we’ll see him the rest of the game. No official word yet from the Steelers or the pressbox at Heinz Field on Polamalu’s status.
