Panthers’ backfield wakes up in Tampa Bay

The Panthers game play was evident in Week 6. Run the ball, and run it a lot.

They were able to do just that against the Buccaneers, posting 267 rushing yards and three scores on the ground in a 28-21 win. DeAngelo Williams was the hero for fantasy owners, rushing for 152 yards and two scores.

Jonathan Stewart, a Week 6 sleeper on NFL.com, had a solid stat line as well with 110 yards and a touchdown of his own.

So, is this a sign of things to come for this talented backfield duo?

I’m not so sure about that.

The schedule is going to get very tough going forward, as the Panthers face the Cardinals, Saints, Dolphins and Jets down the stretch. And guess who’s on the schedule in Weeks 15 and 16, the last two weeks of the fantasy postseason?

Can you say, the Vikings and Giants?

I’m not suggesting you need to go out and trade Williams and Stewart now, but it doesn’t hurt to put them on the block and see what offers are made.
