The Chiefs announced Saturday that starting LT Branden Albert did not travel with the team to Washington for Sunday’s game against the Redskins.
Albert missed the entire week of practice and was listed as questionable with an ankle injury he suffered in last week’s loss to the Cowboys. His absence means veteran backup Wade Smith will likely get the start.
The Chiefs added depth along the line Saturday by signing OT Barry Richardson to the 53-man roster from the team’s practice squad. To clear space on the roster, LB Justin Rogers was released.
