Will Saints RB Thomas share carries going forward?

Fantasy owners who have Saints RB Pierre Thomas have to be thrilled with the level of production he’s given them since his return from an injured knee. In his last two games, he’s posted a combined 212 rushing yards and three touchdowns.

But is Thomas destined to share carries the rest of the season?

Well, the New Orleans Times-Picayune reports that Thomas could lose some of the workload to Mike Bell now that he’s expected to return from a knee injury of his own. BellĀ  found a lot of success to start the season in the absence of Thomas, and might have earned more carries.

With Reggie Bush also in the mix on passing downs, we could be looking at yet another three-headed backfield monster.

So what are fantasy owners to do?

Well, Thomas should still be active in most leagues this weekend when the Saints host the New York Giants at the Superdome. But it’s a good idea to keep tabs on how coach Sean Payton distributes the backfield carries.

If you can get a solid runner like Matt Forte or Chris Johnson for Thomas in a sell-high, buy-low transaction, you might even want to get ahead of this situation.
