Manning pulled against Raiders

Giants coach Tom Coughlin apparently has decided he’s seen enough of QB Eli Manning with his team holding a 28-7 lead over the Raiders.
Manning has been pulled in favor of backup David Carr late during the second quarter, although it’s not yet know if the decision was related to Mannings heel injury, or to simply protect him from further injury. Holding a 21-point lead as halftime nears, either line of reasoning appears plausible. He is 8-of-10 passing for 173 yards with two touchdowns.
Manning’s status was in doubt all week and he was late call to start today against the Raiders after he was diagnosed with plantar fasciitis in his right heel, an injury he sustained last week.
The Giants only carry two quarterbacks on their roster, with Carr the only backup to Manning.
