Manning makes start for Giants

When the New York Giants took the field for their first offensive possession Sunday against the Bucs, they did so with starting QB Eli Manning under center. Manning was a game-time decision for the Giants, his status in doubt all week after he was diagnosed with plantar fasciitis in his right heel.
Manning, who was officially listed as questionable for the game, returned to practice Friday and showed no ill effects from the injury that had kept him sidelined the previous two days.
The Giants only carry two quarterbacks on their roster, with David Carr backing up Manning.
