Manning expected to start for Giants

NFL Network’s Bob Papa reports QB Eli Manning is expected to start for Giants Sunday when they play host to the Raiders.

Manning, who was officially listed as questionable, returned to practice Friday and showed no ill effects of the right heel injury that had kept him sidelined the previous two days. Giants coach Tom Coughlin said he was “encouraged” by the way Manning practiced Friday.

David Carr, who worked with the Giants’ first-team offense earlier in the week, is Manning’s backup.
