There is a laundry list of notable injury updates heading into Sunday’s Patriots-Broncos game.
New England will be without RB Fred Taylor, who had ankle surgery Thursday. Taylor is out indefinitely but is optimistic that it won’t end his season. LB Jerod Mayo (knee), WR Wes Welker (knee), CB Shawn Springs (knee), and DT Vince Wilfork (ankle) were limited participants in practice all week, and each is listed as questionable. Mayo is hoping to play for the first time since suffering strained ligaments in a knee during the season opener.
Denver suffers a setback to its rushing attack for this game, as RB Correll Buckhalter (ankle) is definitely out after not practicing all week. That means RB Knowshon Moreno will be the Broncos’ featured back. Veteran S Brian Dawkins (knee/shoulder) had missed practice earlier in the week but returned for limited participation today. Dawkins officially is listed as questionable.
