NASHVILLE — There have been calls outside the Titans’ locker room for coach Jeff Fisher to think about replacing Kerry Collins with Vince Young at quarterback after a surprising 0-4 start.
But no move will be made in that regard any time soon, Fisher reiterated Wednesday, and Young, a former first-round draft pick and one-time starter, doesn’t want to be awarded playing time at the expense of his team losing.
Young stuck to the position of backing his teammates, despite repeated questions from reporters about him possibly getting on the field.
“That’s not what I’m looking for, for us to lose, to get back in the game,” Young said. “That’s like saying I have no respect for my teammates. I have a lot of respect for my teammates. I got their backs, 100 percent. If they’re struggling, we’re all struggling. We need to put the pieces together to get everything right.”
The Titans will host the Colts on Sunday night.
