Oakland Raiders coach Tom Cable announced during his weekly news conference Monday that RB Darren McFadden will miss 2-4 weeks with torn meniscus in his knee. Cable didn’t specify which knee McFadden had suffered the tear.
McFadden finished with six carries for minus-3 yards in Sunday’s 29-6 loss to the Texans. The former first-round pick has started all four games this season and leads the Raiders with 145 yards rushing on 47 carries.
Cable declined to name a starter in place of McFadden, saying he’d continue to rely on the other two players in the Raiders’ backfield trio – Justin Fargas and Michael Bush.
Cable also said that RT Cornell Green will miss 2-4 weeks with a strained calf, and that LG Robert Gallery, who has missed the last two games with a broken fibula, was “making tremendous progress” but would be a longshot to play this week.
