Hester not on field for second half

It looks as though Devin Hester’s day has been cut short due to an injury. Hester left today’s game against the Lions with an undisclosed injury during the second quarter after taking a hard hit on a two-yard reception, and isn’t on the field for the Bears’ first drive of the second half.

The FOX game broadcast is reporting Hester sustained a shoulder injury, and isn’t dressed for the second half. The Bears began the series with Earl Bennett and rookie Johnny Knox on the field. Bennett has taken over punt return duties with Hester out, and Knox is returning kicks — he took the opening kickoff of the half back 102 yards for a touchdown to give the Bears a 28-21 lead.
