The Chargers should have their No. 1 running back this weekend. The Steelers probably will not.
Chargers RB LaDainian Tomlinson missed the last two games because of an ankle injury, but he’s listed as probable for Sunday night’s game in Pittsburgh after fully participating in practice all week. The Chargers also might have LB Shawne Merriman, who’s listed as questionable with a groin injury after he fully returned to practice Friday.
The Steelers likely will start second-year pro Rashard Mendenhall at running back after listing Willie Parker as doubtful with a toe injury. Mendenhall hasn’t exactly impressed Pittsburgh coaches, who benched him last week because of his problems with learning the plays.
