NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell reiterated his outlook for the NFL in London on Tuesday, calling it “realistic” to believe a team could be overseas within 10 years. Multiple games in London could start as early as next season.

Mangini taking secrecy to a new level in Cleveland

I have a strange feeling that Cleveland coach Eric Mangini is a huge fan of the movie “Usual Suspects” (I am, by the way; a top-fiver). You know the bad guy is the cunning Keyser Söze but you don’t know who the bad guy actually is until the final moment.

Goodell: Still seeking solution for expanded schedule

NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell spoke on a number of topics during a live chat Tuesday on NFL.com, including expanding the league’s regular-season schedule while shorting the current four-game preseason schedule.

Nothing wrong with a little white lie

Last week I made the statement on NFL Total Access that Eric Mangini needed to pick a QB and tell a little white lie. Needless to say, Mangini is marching to his own drum.

Brady sees realities of Seymour trade

Tom Brady and Richard Seymour spent eight seasons together in New England as two important parts of the core that won three Super Bowls for the Patriots. So when New England traded Seymour to the Oakland Raiders over the weekend, perhaps no one had a closer perspective on the situation than Brady.

Interesting topics for Week 1

We’re all excited for the games to finally begin. Plenty of reasons to keep an eye on each offering.

Rookie impact … what rookie impact?

When the Lions named Matthew Stafford their starting quarterback on Monday, he joined an exclusive club.

Status of StarCaps players still uncertain for Week 1

Several notable NFL players facing possible suspensions from the Starcaps case still are awaiting word from the courts and the league as to their status for Week 1.

Lack of long-term deal likely holding up Seymour trade

Given what I have heard today, I’d be very surprised to see Richard Seymour in Oakland without a new contract. Seymour has one year left on his existing deal and is less than thrilled about being dealt from New England to Oakland yesterday.
